The theme of vanity often underpinned 16th and 17th century still life paintings from which I draw inspiration for creating my small works.
• TECHNIQUE : gesso coated wood panel, monochrome egg tempera underpaintings and multiple layers of thin colored oil glazings ( flemish technique ). The sides are gilded with copper leaf ( patinated aspect ).
